ILA Congresses - Les congrès de l’ILA

Heidelberg : 2nd circular

Dear colleagues, dear friends,

As there are some minor alterations to be made, especially a correction in the international BIC code given at the end of the congress announcement, we hereby renew our announcement of the III International Congress of International Lychnological Association and postpone the date to pay the congress fee definitely to 15 May 2009.

Due to a rebuilding programme in some main lecture buildings at the University of Heidelberg we shall have the congress presentations mainly at the Institute of History of Art.

A small exhibition consisting of finds from south west Germany in the University Museum will be opened in the university lecture hall (Aula der alten Universität), and this will be the official opening of the congress on Monday evening 21 September.

We are happy to inform you all that we have received proposals for 40 papers with a large variety of subjects, promising a rich and stimulating congress with a lot of new discussions and ideas for future lychnological studies !

As there were only four or five posters offered, and we still might fit in some more short lectures, we propose that those who offer posters can give lectures instead. Those who prefer to present a poster can put it up outside the lecture hall or in a room next door.

The first preliminary programme of the congress will be presented at the end of May. For more details concerning the registration and excursions, see the attached second circular.

For all additional questions, please contact : Yasemin Leylek M.A., Institut für Klassische Archäologie, Universität Heidelberg : Redaktion_Thetis@gmx.net

With all my best lychnological greetings

Wishing you a wonderful spring time !

Dr. Arja Karivieri President of the ILA

On behalf of the organizing committee in Heidelberg and the committee of the ILA
